The 50’s
Street car racing was very popular among young people.
That’s how Fred Neal got to test his driving skills.

1959
Interested in performance cars Fred joined the Delta Drag Racers Association.
At that time, drag strips were rare, drag cars were just “dragsters,” drag racing was
not an official sport. After tracks were developed, Fred became a drag race organizer.

By 1970
His passion gave him the skills to build his own racing engines.
That year, he participated in his first National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) event:
The Gatornationals.

1975
Fred started his own company, Engine Rebuilders Company, in Greenville, Mississippi.
Primarily a machine shop, it performed all machine work, including racing engines.

Eventually,
Fred and son Kirk developed the business into Neal Racing Engines
Specialty: Racing engines and cylinder head porting.

2000
Increased involvement in the racing world
Neal Racing Engines relocated in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Today
Neal Racing Engines services all engines and cylinder heads for
Drag racing
Oval track racing
SCCA racing
Street performance

High quality standards has won Neal Racing Engines a good reputation among top racers
as Kirk became an expert in cylinder head porting and in manifold development.

If Neal Racing Engines is a business, it is also a family affair.
Over the years, Fred and sons Kirk, Fred III, and Scott
have regularly participated in NHRA drag racing
where they all achieved many record setting victories.
